Robert Downey Jr.: Hollywood Should Forgive Mel Gibson

"Unless you are without sin—and if you are, you are in the wrong fucking industry—you should forgive him and let him work again." - Robert Downey Jr. on Mel Gibson

- This is the mentality of someone who's guilty of serious immoral actions themselves and have a lot of things on their conscience. This is not about empathy nor Mel Gibson, he is projecting and also rationalizing. He is basically saying, "if I can forgive him, then I should also be forgiven for what I've done in the past and what might be exposed in the future".

Also, if we follow his logic, then it doesn't matter how small or big your "sins" have been, you do not have the right to judge others. So someone who stole a chocolate bar as a kid, can't judge a pedophile, a rapist, a robber, a racist, an abuser and the list goes on. So if someone beat up his kid, he can't judge. If someone killed one of his loved ones, he can't judge. Yes, his logic is logical indeed. Let's get rid of the criminal justice system while we're at it.
