Barbara Walters "N-Word" Controversy: A Paradox

I would rather Barbara Walters use the word in this kind of context, than a pedophile, rapist and racist supporter like Whoopi Goldberg use it anytime - anywhere. And that's the irony of it all, because it's essentially about racism, and if all Sherri Shephard cares about in this context is your ethnicity and skin colour - and not the context nor the individual - then doesn't that make it racist too? It's paradoxical that racism is used to curb racism.

That said, I do understand why this subject is so sensitive, and I sympathise. But, no matter how uncomfortable it is, the context does matter, and solely focusing on ethnicity is counterintuitive and defeats its own purpose.
